![]() ![]() and have them duplicate them in archival silicone. just to find that they are all hard, brittle, inelastic, even gooey?! Maybe the best solution of all is to buy extra pairs and rush them to a specialty fabrication shop. as all rubber does! Have you ever opened a bag of "old" rubber bands. But countering that argument is that they will degrade with time. ![]() On a positive note - at least our concerns are distinctly on the ~1st World~ end of concerns to lose sleep over! The best solution would be to buy extras and store them unstressed. over and over again flexes them through a huge number of iterations - which might argue will cause them to fail because of that. On the other hand, flipping them up down up down up down. To leave them permanently folded down is to place them in a permanent state of stress, speeding up the cracking process. This is now conjecture on my part: The "natural, stress-free" state of the eyecup is in the unfolded position. I don't enjoy having to continuously fold and unfold such eyecups, but I go through the process each time.
